RETIREMENT FAIR - ASCOT

 About the Retirement Fair

The number of people approaching retirement age and already retired is increasing and for many of those people it is the moment to have fun and enjoy new experiences, whether that is holidays, moving home, taking up new activities, or offering time to the voluntary sector. It is also a moment when different information is often required.
As people move through this period of their lives, not every day will be trouble free and therefore health and social care issues will be appearing on their radar screen. For some, advice may be needed on pensions, tax, investment and legal issues.
Whatever happens we all know that what is available to us in the local area or on line will become increasing important as we grow older.

The Retirement Fair aims to attract exhibitors who believe that they have products and services that are relevant to this market.
Last year in the beautiful setting of the Ascot Racecourse Grandstand we welcomed around 1000 visitors to be informed and entertained by more than 100 exhibitors.
The Fair is organised by the Ascot Project a small charitable group which aims to identify areas which will improve the lives of older people. In addition to this Fair the Project also organises weekly shopping trips for those who need transport and support.
We believe that we should continue to provide free entrance to all visitors so that everyone who visits can access the advice and information they need to help to improve the quality of their lives
.

Exhibiting at the Fair

The Fair will be held in the Grandstand of Ascot Racecourse which offers wonderful and spacious accommodation for all sizes of exhibits and entertainments Visitors are largely drawn from the local areas and our exhibitors are a mixture of national and local businesses, charities, leisure groups and representatives from the local boroughs.

Whilst we benefit from donations received to host this event, the monies received do not cover the full cost of the event and its promotion. We are therefore introducing a charge of £20.00 for each stand and will continue to seek further sponsorship to support our promotion of the event.

The Fair is promoted through advertising in local newspapers, local radio and websites, street banners and a large poster drop across the area. A programme is given to each visitor giving a description of each exhibitor’s products or services, together with a telephone number for future reference. Several food counters serving hot and cold food and drinks are open throughout the Grandstand.
